Let's get you thinking

If you don’t know where to start, begin by having a think about some of these things:

  • What are your interests both inside and outside of college?
  • What are you good at?
  • What skills have you gained from your studies?
  • What are you own personal qualities – are you a good listener? Then maybe a career in social work would suit you. Are you great at organising things? Then what about becoming a PA or getting into event management?
  • What sort of career do you think would work best for you? Do you want to work for a big business or a public body? Could charity work be for you? Do you think working for yourself could be the right thing for you?
  • Do you already have a company in mind that you’d like to work for? If so get onto their website and have a look at the types of vacancies they have.
