Description

Working alongside the kitchen team, you will assist in the preparation cooking and garnishing of food from our menu.

Training to be provided: You will work towards completing the Apprenticeship Standard Commis

Expected course duration : 18 months

Number of hours : 30 hours per week

Working pattern : Minimum of 30 hours including 7 hours spent at Gateshead college for day release. Monday – Sunday,various shifts including weekend work

Salary: £127.50 per week

Job description:

This position will involve the applicant taking on the role of Apprentice Commis Chef and will be required to:

  • Support the Head Chef in ensuring the efficient and effective running of the kitchens

  • Ensure and maintain standards of cleanliness, relating to the working areas and kitchen equipment, complying with all company standards and legal requirements.

  • General kitchen duties include cleaning and general preparation

  • Receiving deliveries and following all health and safety regulations

    You will also learn:

  • Meat preparation, marinating & slow cooking the bear way

  • Our Purple Bear dressings and sauces

  • A range of sides and salads

  • A range of soups, fish, poultry and meat dishes

    Qualifications required

    Must have GCSEs or equivalent grades D or above in both English & Mathematics.
    If successfully selected for interview all applicants will complete initial assessments in English and Mathematics
