The Engine Room are looking to recruit a Commis Chef to support the Head Chef in their busy kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with passion and determination to join a successful team.
Training to be provided:
You will work towards completing the Apprenticeship Standard Commis Chef.
Expected course duration: 18 months
Number of hours: 40 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday - Sunday, Various shifts including weekend work 11.00am - 8.00pm, 9.00am - 5.00pm.
Salary:£148.00 per week
Working alongside the kitchen team, you will assist in preparing, cooking and garnishing food from the menu, as well as freshly baked goods and desserts. You will be involved in every step from preparation to serving. You will also be responsible for maintaining the high standards of your own work station and keeping the highest standards of personal hygiene while carrying out general kitchen duties. This role will be varied and very exciting, strong communication skills are essential and the ability to work within a team is paramount.
This position will involve the applicant taking on the role of Apprentice Commis Chef and being required to:
Support the Kitchen team in ensuring the efficient and effective running of the kitchen
Ensure and maintain standards of cleanliness, relating to the working areas and kitchen equipment, complying with company standards and legal requirements
General Kitchen duties include cleaning, general preparation, receiving deliveries and following all health and safety regulations
