Situated in the heart of Birtley, Thought Foundation is a thoughtful arts and cultural space, to inspire, promote and support. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join the team.

Training to be provided: You will work towards the Apprenticeship Standard Hospitality Team Member with Gateshead College. You may be required to complete functional skills as part of the qualification.  

Expected duration:18 months

Hours per week: 30 hours You will work 4 days out of 7 , Hours 9am – 5pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch

Salary: £135.00 per week

Job description:

Main duties will include:

  • Assist with all aspects of the preparation of food service areas and presentation of food to the notified standard, including preparation of cold food and baking

  • Operate till, taking orders and payment for food and drinks

  • Assist with the replenishment of food, beverages and equipment to ensure service periods do not stop

  • Assist with hygienic cleaning of utensils and work areas after service periods

  • Assist with the implementation of cleaning schedules to agreed standards

  • To assist with the set-up, service, clearing and cleaning of function catering as requested

  • Clearing and cleaning of tables

  • Dishwashing, filling the dishwasher and putting clean crockery away.

  • Adhere to cleaning and health and safety procedures

  • There may also be involvement in admin and paperwork e.g. helping with food orders and party bookings

  • Making and serving hot and cold drinks

    Qualifications required

Must have GCSEs grades D or above in both English & Mathematics.
