Elanders Ltd are looking for an administration apprentice to join their busy team!

Training to be provided:

You will work towards a BTEC Level 3 Business Administrator Standard with Gateshead College and functional skills maths, English and IT, if required.

Expected course duration: 18 months

Number of hours: 37.5 hours

Working pattern:9am-5pm (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £172.50 - £243.75 per week

Job description:


  • To respond to customer complaints and corrective actions via acknowledgement letter and explanation letter if necessary, where required to support in the investigation of the root cause of customer complaints or corrective actions.

  • To retain documentation and monitor the status of complaints and corrective actions.

  • To ensure that approved procedures and operating instructions are implemented and that staff are aware of, and have access to; current versions.

  • To communicate quality and environmental issues to all staff through a monthly quality employee report, and via the notice board.

  • To prepare monthly spoilage reports and email these to the directors.

  • To organise internal audits of procedures, ensuring on-going business compliance, conducting the audits according to a pre-set schedule.

  • To complete waste contractor audits as and when required.

  • To manage company calibration requirements.

  • To support the organisation in maintaining an effective 5S system.

  • To support the Optimal print process by conducting monthly audits, reviewing complaints on a bi-weekly basis, corresponding with the customer on corrective actions.

  • To carry out internal audits on operating instructions as and when required.

  • To ensure that the requirements of FSC standards are met, approve on-product and organise off-product approvals, monitor FSC certified papers and suppliers; maintaining validation.

  • Monitor the progress of Quality & Environmental improvement objectives.

  • To ensure the company comply with all relevant legislation with regard to the environment and maintain a register applicable to Elanders.

  • To complete the minutes for 6 management review meetings and the environmental steering committee on a bi-annual basis; assisting in the committee to review environmental performance.

  • To maintain records of utility usage on a monthly basis for periodic analysis.

  • To undertake ad-hoc support for project work as required by senior members of staff.

  • To perform any other tasks as directed by the Compliance Manager.
